Hamer's Honored by Burpee Museum

Paul and Sis Hamer were honored recently by being asked to be involved in the Rick's Picks exhibit at The Burpee Museum in Rockford, Illinois.  Rick's Picks is an exhibit of the life and work of Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick fame. This incredible creation of the Burpee Museum curators and Jay Graham of Graham/Spencer celebrates, in a very creative way, the genius behind one of the world's great bands.

Paul and Sis are grateful to Rick Nielsen for all he has done to make this one of their most memorable years. Thanks Rick!!!!!

Paul Hamer is the founder of Hamer Guitars and built many of the guitars that Rick Nielsen uses in concert and recording. Video interviews of Paul are on Ipads on the plexiglass displays of the guitars he built.

Though the the exhibit closed on April 14th , 2013 it will be traveling soon to a museum near you.

Paul Nebenzahl at our Evanston Store

Artist and musician Paul Nebenzahl will have an art opening at our Evanston store on Friday March 29th from 7 to 9 pm. Join us in welcoming Paul and see a new art form being born.

"Evanston native Paul Nebenzahl began painting with watercolors 20 years ago. His initial subject matter was the Italian countryside.  He started painting in acrylics ten years ago, and began printing his drawings done on the iPad over the past two years.  His work ranges from studies of flowers and birds, of water tanks, of portraiture and of imaginary cityscapes.  His more abstract iPad drawings have been printed on glossy photographic paper, which reproduces their luminosity well.  A seasoned musician and a focused poet, Nebenzahl has always been interested in the visual arts as a means of both deep personal introspection and broad external social consciousness."
